By default, your entries are protected in transit by TLS and by strict per-user access controls, and employees do not have routine access to individual entries — but the content is technically readable on our servers. You can turn on optional client-side encryption in Settings, which is off by default; for entries written after that point, we store only ciphertext and cannot read them, even if we wanted to. AI-generated summaries and mood metrics are stored separately to power features like your daily narrative and insights, and are not end-to-end encrypted regardless of your setting.

The short version

Your data is protected in transit by TLS and by strict access controls, and you can turn on optional client-side encryption so we cannot read your entries at all. AI-generated insights are kept separate from your raw words. We do not sell your data. You can delete everything anytime.
