Is my journal data private and secure?

Your entries are protected in transit by TLS and by per-user access controls in the database. Entry text is kept out of Daylogue's application logs and error reports. Daylogue reads your entries on its servers to write your narratives and surface patterns. That is how the product works, and we would rather say so than imply otherwise. Where an account has an encryption key, entries in the encrypted journal vault are encrypted with AES-256-GCM and that key is wrapped with PBKDF2-SHA256 at 600,000 iterations. Daylogue does not infer how you feel from your face or your tone of voice; it works only from what you choose to share. We do not sell your data and we do not run ads. Your entries are not used to train third-party models without explicit consent.

It compares you to your own trailing average, never to a population, a target, a goal, or another person. One metric at a time, with no composite score, no readiness or recovery number, and no verdict about you as a person. Every read carries a "Why this appeared" panel showing which metric it used, what it was compared against, how long the baseline window was, and where the data came from. Body Read wording comes from a fixed, human-curated template set rather than being generated per user. Connected Reads are a separate kind of read that pair a health signal with a theme from your check-in tags: entries about work have overlapped with shorter sleep several times this month.
