Journaling

Chat and your private journal in V2

Start anywhere

Open Chat below Today in V2 Daily navigation. On iPhone, open it from Today or the Daily section in More. Before your first new chat, acknowledge that every conversation saves automatically to your private journal. Your group organizer cannot access it.

Save first, then reply

Send saves your writing before requesting an AI reply. Saving, saved, and retry messages show what happened. One thread has one journal item, even if you switch devices or retry. AI replies keep their own speaker label and never become mood ratings. Earlier conversations retain their original storage settings.

Choose journal memory

Turn on Use relevant entries from my private journal for this conversation to retrieve eligible personal writing. Chat checks a bounded set of recent entries and links its answers to entries consulted; it cannot promise to find everything. It does not retrieve Group responses, other people’s writing, or entries protected by No AI mode. Turn it off to stop further retrieval.

Delete or archive

Delete permanently from Chat or Journal conversations to remove the thread and journal item together. Archive only hides it from your active list. Content already sent to a provider follows the published retention and deletion process.

Protected text Chat

For eligible California accounts age 15–17, protected text Chat requires current age verification, personal AI consent, an eligible plan, and an active release clearance. Memory needs a separate choice. Responses are checked before delivery. AI can be wrong and is not therapy; there is no live monitoring or automatic teacher or guardian alert. Resources remain available when AI is off. The three-hour break reminder appears outside the model.
